Lose It Salad Dressing Recipe

Every salad-eater has the same struggle.

Dressing, or no dressing?

Salad without dressing is - let’s be honest - just boring old vegetables. You need something to flavor it up. But putting a common dressing on your salad usually takes the healthy right out of it, defeating the point of eating a salad in the first place. You might as well be eating a burger and fries.

Luckily there is a simple solution.

Homemade dressings!

Why You Should Make Salad Dressings At Home

Mixing your own salad dressings actually turns out to be a lot cheaper than buying any of your grocery store regulars. And compared to the options at a whole-foods market? Please! You’re basically paying for a fancy label and disposable bottle.

Another great thing about making your own salad dressings is that YOU control the ingredients. Have you checked a salad dressing label recently? Almost every single one will have way too much sugar, salt, random artificial flavorings and colors and let’s not even talk about the ingredients you can’t pronounce. Making a dressing at home gives you freedom to put in just as much as is necessary and personalize it to your taste buds.

And lastly, mixing your own dressings is a useful skill when you're in a pinch. Most dressings can be made in less than 5 minutes! And once you find the recipes you love (and your family loves!), you can whip them up any time you want. You’ll make them so often you won’t even need the recipes!

The Easiest Vinaigrette

Before I reveal the incredibly delicious salad dressing that will make you LOSE IT, let’s talk about the generic vinaigrette.

The simplest way to add just the right amount of flavor to your salad is to lightly toss it with olive oil, drizzle on a little lemon or balsamic vinegar and add a pinch of salt and pepper. And there you have it. Just enough healthy flavor to make your salad interesting.

Adding the extra herbs will only boost the flavor and give you added benefits.
