The Perfect Iced Green Tea Latte Recipe

Are you ready to indulge in a green tea latte that can fuel you with lasting energy and vibrancy?

Last summer I found myself in a love affair with green matcha lattes; they're creamy, satisfying, and naturally energizing. I’m not usually into lattes, but I was craving a mid-day boost that was gentler than caffeine and healthier as well.

I got me thinking: how can I make a green tea latte that’s energizing but even better than just matcha green tea and milk?

That’s when I started to experiment with several unsweetened plant-based milk options and Organifi’s Green Juice, focussing on a frothy, tasty, and superpowered new version of that green tea latte I was hooked on. To my surprise, the simplest version was the best one. So:

If you’re into simplicity, superfoods, and feeling real good, this delicious recipe will power up your day with nature’s best, our amazing Organifi Green Juice, and un-freakin’-believable taste.

You just throw a few ingredients together and stir for a deliciously smooth and buttery (not to mention super healthy!) green tea latte treat:

Organifi’s Iced Green Tea Latte

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Pour the almond milk into a tall glass.
  2. Add a scoop of Organifi’s green juice powder.
  3. Add the ice cubes.
  4. Stir everything together with a spoon until you get a frothy and icy mix.

That’s it! A green iced tea latte recipe you can do in five minutes or less. Here’s why our version beats your ordinary matcha green tea latte:

  • It increases your healthy greens intake in just one glass: every scoop of our powder has more plant protein, essential amino acids, antioxidants, iron, calcium, manganese, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants than the ones you’d get in some individual portions of greens and vegetables.

  • It leverages the collective power of 11 superfoods that make our Green Juice blend so unique and effective for detox, immunity, and fat burning.

In general, you need five portions of fruits and vegetables every day to reach your recommended daily intake, but we created a tasty shortcut dehydrating master greens, (and beets!) roots and adaptogens to supercharge your day.

  • It has matcha green tea you’re basically revving up a matcha green tea latte with 10 more plant-powered ingredients.

  • It doesn’t taste like grass or feel powdery when people dislike a green tea latte or a matcha green tea latte they usually complain about the “grassy” taste or sticky powder from the matcha green tea. Our dehydrated green juice powder melts and blends easily with the almond milk giving you all texture and none of the ickiness.

  • It’s dairy and soy free! Now it’s  true you can pop in a shop for a vegan latte, but you won’t always find a soy-free version. The reason the almond milk works well with this recipe is that it’s naturally creamy, plus the slightly nutty flavor brings out the green juice in a playful way.

Simply put: it’s delicious! And a great way to get your greens in plus ashwagandha, turmeric, coconut water, and lemon. Let’s dig deeper into the health benefits of our iced green tea latte:

Why Organifi’s Iced Green Tea Latte is a Healthy Alternative

#1 May Help With Natural Body Detox

When we think of body detox, we’re either thinking of intermittent fasting or a juice cleanse, and yes both of these work, but you can also activate your liver’s natural detox function feeding it mostly green fruits and vegetables that help it purify blood - like chlorella.

Chlorella is a nutrient-dense alga that binds itself to heavy metals which supports body detox.  Our green juice - and therefore this green tea latte- has chlorella in it.

Bonus: If you’re interested we have 19 body detox power moves for your organs, mind, and soul. For now, you can just have your tea ;)

#2 Could Help You Manage Stress

One of the downsides to caffeine is that it can make you high-strung, restless, and more irritable (raise your hand if you get bat-ship-cray-cray cranky without your daily “fix” - I know I did!) This iced green tea latte won’t, and here’s why:

Ashwaganda is an adaptogen herb that helps the body regulate the stress response. Research shows Ashwaganda reduces cortisol levels and our green juice powder has it, in concentrated powder form.

#3 Supports Digestion

Gas, bloating, and constipation are no joke. I should know:  In the past, I would often excuse myself out of tacos and tequila night because I was doubling up in pain like I got punched by a five-year-old. Sure, when you look at me, it doesn’t sound that bad - but it wasn’t fun either.

Mint moves gas through your body relieving bloating, constipation and cramps. Mint -another one of our magic ingredients- helps with digestion enhancing “gastric emptying.”

#4 Gives You an Energy Boost

It’s a matcha green tea latte after all! Our exclusive green juice blend has matcha green tea, providing that energy kick we can’t help but gush about when we defend our addiction to coffee. But because it combines natural caffeine with L-theanine, you don’t get jittery highs and that god-awful crash other caffeine stimulants have.

#5 Adds Healthy Plant-Based Protein to Your Diet

The almond milk protein combined with spirulina, which has 60% protein content and is one of the richest vegetable protein sources, makes this iced green tea latte a treat, a pick-me-up, and meal support.

If you’re working out, trying to hit your protein macros, or just trying to live - you’ll need protein. This is a refreshing way to get it while smacking your lips at the same time.

#6 May Help Burn Fat

Burn Baby Burn! That’s what happens to fat when your metabolic rate goes up, when you exercise, and also when you drink green juice. The ingredients in our proprietary blend are designed to kick your metabolism up a notch (and then some), and that’s why this iced green tea latte recipe is more than a tasty treat!

#7 Anti-Inflammatory Properties

Belly bloat that won’t go away no matter how many times you crunch it? Tired of loving that mirror selfie in the morning but feeling like all your work went to hell two hours after breakfast? A) You’re not alone. B) You may have abdominal inflammation.

Inflammation is a normal phenomenon that helps the body cushion things up around injured tissue, muscle, or bones so it can heal. However, sometimes the body gets its signals crossed and becomes chronically inflamed.

Gastritis, parasitic infections, IBS, gluten allergies, food intolerance, pancreatitis, ulcers, and endometriosis in women, among others, can all lead to chronic inflammation of the abdomen.

Turmeric powder fights inflammation at a molecular level and helps the body naturally dissolve it. If you’re interested, learn more about the health benefits of turmeric - they’re truly fascinating.

In addition to all of this, this green tea alternative also has lemon extract, coconut water, moringa, and wheat grass. All contributing to hydration, body detox, blood purification, and higher energy levels.

It really is a fantastic alternative to your caffeine fix.

When to Have it?

Because this is still green juice, you can easily sip this tea early in the morning on an empty stomach, during a hot summer day or while you get ready for work. You can also enjoy it in the afternoon if you can’t keep your eyes open any longer (and your boss is starting to sound like Charlie Brown’s teacher) or really any time you feel like you need more energy and concentration!

Would I recommend it for bedtime?

Not really, but you can always try. If you’re ready to put on Netflix, open up a book, or relax at the tub, then I’d recommend switching over to our Organifi Gold Tea, which is specifically designed to help you wind down and get the best sleep ever.

You can still make it a nighttime latte by adding the same amount of almond milk, and even ice it if you will!
